History of Igate in Latvia

Today, IGATE is one of the leading infrastructure construction companies in Latvia — with its own network of asphalt, bitumen and paving plants, quarries, modern equipment and hundreds of completed projects. Our history is a story of persistent work, investments and reliable partnerships with public and private customers.

1991
On September 20, 1991, the company SIA “Ceļu būvniecības sabiedrība "IGATE"” was founded, with Māris Radželis as its founder. The idea for the company’s name originated from the small river called Igate, which flows near Igates’ first asphalt concrete plant in Vilce, Jelgava Municipality. Symbolically, small rivers merge into larger ones, which in turn flow into the sea, representing that something large can develop from something small.
