Reconstruction of Aizsargu Street in Jelgava

Project Objective:
To improve traffic safety by enhancing the comfort of traffic participants and providing safe mobility options.

Completed Works:
Reconstruction of the asphalt concrete pavement of Aizsargu Street;
Carriageway width – 9.00 m;
Lane width – 3.75 m;
Shoulder width – 1.50 m.
Removal of vegetation from the shoulders of Aizsargu Street and construction of new shoulders;
Construction of a roundabout at the intersection of Aizsargu Street and Kārniņu Road;
Construction of a pedestrian path with a new asphalt concrete surface and LED lighting in the roundabout area;
Installation of electrical networks;
Illumination of the Jelgava city sign;
Installation of video cameras in the roundabout area;
Landscaping and improvement works: creation of a recreational area near Kārniņu Road, providing bicycle racks, benches, and trash bin installation;
Restoration of the asphalt concrete pavement along the section of Kārniņu Road from Staļģenes Street to the bridge over the Vircava River;
Double surface paving along the section of Lediņu Road from Kārniņu Road to the administrative border of Jelgava city.
